Jose Eleuterio Perez

On July 28, 2024, Jose Eleuterio Perez, Sr, was called home to our lord. Born on January 13, 1958, in Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico, he immigrated to Chicago, IL in 1962 with his mother, father, and sister Rosalinda, and brother Francisco. The Perez family moved to Houston, TX in 1970. He attended Dowling Middle School and The High School for Health Professions.

In 1977 he met the love of his life, Olivia Carmona. They remained together for the next 47 years. Jose and Olivia wed in 1979. The following year they had a son, Jose Jr, followed by another son, Vidal, in 1982, and finally his daughter, Suzanna, in 1983.

A skilled machinist, Jose worked for Hanh & Clay before beginning a 36 year career with Anheuser-Busch at the Houston brewery. Jose received many awards for his ideas on improving processes. He received a President’s Award and received a week long vacation in Chicago and met with Auggie Busch III.

When not working, Jose enjoyed traveling and spending time with his children and his grandchildren. He passed his mechanical skills down to his sons, and passed his independent spirit to his daughter.

He was preceded in death by his father Gudelio, mother Consuelo, his in-laws, Guadalupe and Mary Carmona, and his niece Precious.

He is survived by his sisters, Rosalinda and Norma, brother Francisco, his wife Olivia, his children, Jose Jr, Vidal, and Suzanna. His son-in-law, Gerardo, his daughters-in-law, Sarah and Claudia. His grandchildren, Samuel, Jose III, Grace, Gavin, Diego, Daniel, Benjamin, Randy, Lilia, William, and Arturo, and his great granddaughter, Alice.

Jose will be sorely missed on Earth as we await our reunion in Heaven.

A visitation for Jose will be held Friday, August 9, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Brookside Funeral Home - Champion, 3410 Cypress Creek Parkway, Houston, TX 77068. A prayer service will occur Friday, August 9, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM, 3410 Cypress Creek Parkway, Houston, TX 77068. A funeral service will occur Saturday, August 10, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, 3410 Cypress Creek Parkway, Houston, TX 77068.
