

Joseph was born in Arniquet, Haiti on February 20, 1942. In 1970, he left Haiti bound for Boston, Massachusetts where he lived for the next 12 years. In 1982, he moved to Houston, Texas and found his permanent home.
Joseph quickly made a name for himself as an entrepreneur who pioneered one of the first cash-based rent-a-car companies. He later expanded his business into real estate as an owner and developer. Joseph was also very active in the Haitian American community and devoted time to teaching ESL to Haitian immigrants at HCC.
He leaves behind a cherished legacy and is survived by his loving wife, Chantal Edmond, his children, Murielle Saint Fort, Nick Edmond and wife Roxanne, Kevin Edmond and wife Betsey, and Monley Edmond and wife Adriana. He is also survived by grandchildren, Markinley, Marc-Allen, Markeem, Francois, Roxston, Mia, Addison, Sydney, Bennett and Archer, as well as great grandchildren Mason and Lylah. Joseph was also a cherished brother to his loving siblings, Marie Petite-Jean, Mintolia Bazelais, Jean F. Edmond and Giselle Edmond. Joseph was preceded in death by his father, Mintor Dexin, his mother, Anita Edmond as well as sisters Luisa Edmond and Carmelle Louis.
Visitation for friends and family will be held at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home and Cemetery, 12800 Westheimer Road, Houston, TX 77077 on Saturday, August 12, 2023, Viewing will be held from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM, funeral service will start at 2:00 PM followed by a committal service at 3:00 pm.
