Joseph "Lee" Stelly was born to the late Sylvester Stelly Sr. "Pop" and Bertha Stelly "Mom" on February 13, 1931. He departed this earthly life on Monday, May 17, 2021. He accepted God at an early age. He was baptized in Grand Coteau, Louisiana on February 21, 1931. Joseph was blessed with a large and loving family. He married his dedicated wife and friend, Mattie Stelly on April 14, 1968. Joseph was a loving husband, father, and grandfather/great- grandfather, with a sharp wit, strong mind, warm heart, and a generous spirit. Joseph worked as a carpenter for KB Construction company in Sugar Land, TX for several decades.. He later worked for HISD Transportation Department. He enjoyed time spent with his wife and family, fishing, riding horses, watching westerns and he delighted in the company of his extended family and loved ones.
Joseph is survived by his wife, Mattie, children Annette, Lisa, Jeffery "Glen", Lonnie, and Donnie, sisters Rosia Stelly and Evangeline "Shawee" Green, brother Sylvester Stelly Jr., and many grand/great grand-children, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
