

Josephine "Josie" Rubach, 88, passed away on February 18, 2012 after a short illness. Born in Anderson, Texas, Josie was 1 of 11 children. After moving to Houston as young woman, she met and married Joe Rubach in 1944, enjoying 53 years of a wonderful marriage. They had two children; daughter Mary Frances O’Brien and husband Michael, and son Raymond Rubach. Joe and Josie were long-time members of St. Rose of Lima Parish. Josie devoted her entire life to her family and she was an expert seamstress and gardener. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
She is survived by her brother Floyd and wife Mary; her children; her grandchildren, Corey O’Brien and wife Kelly, Amy O’Brien Kane and husband Michael, Aaron Rubach and wife Linda, Eric Rubach and wife Wendy and Megan Rubach; her great-grandchildren, Caden, Conner and Kenna O’Brien and Tanner and Reagan Rubach and nieces, nephews and friends. The family especially thanks her friends at The Gathering at St. Rose and her caregivers.
Visitation will be held Friday, February 24, 2012 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Pat H. Foley & Company. A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating her life will be on Saturday, February 25, 2012 at 12:30 p.m. at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 3600 Brinkman St., Houston, TX 77018. Interment will follow at Earthman Resthaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Rose of Lima can be designated for The Gathering.
