Josie Inez Chance

Josie Inez Chance, age 94, went to be with the Lord on September 14, 2015 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas E. Chance, her son Robert E. Chance and her grandson Dylan Thomas Chance.

Inez is survived by her daughters, Anita Chance and Paula K. McCain, son-in-law Jim McCain and her son Darryl E. Chance, her grandchildren Amy Anita Truong, husband Hao Truong and Daniel Edward McCain. She is also survived by her sister Madge Olech, her brother Horace Moore and wife Shirley, and sister-in-law Dorothy Moore . She is also survived by numerous nephews, nieces and longtime friends.

She was born in Lott, Texas on March 17, 1921. Inez was known for her love of children and spent many years teaching pre-school at Long Point Baptist Church in Houston, Texas. She was an excellent teacher and gave so many children a love of learning.

She and Ed, her husband of almost 50 years, were known as a kind, caring couple who helped all types of people during their many years together. She loved fishing, square dancing and spending time with her family and many friends. Inez will be remembered as a strong, caring woman who truly loved people and helping them in their time of need.
