Jovita Duarte Contreras born in Houston, TX August 21, 1942 returned home to be with Our Lord October 27, 2016. Jovita was one of 9 children of Trinidad Duarte Sr., & Lydia Nunez of Houston, TX. She was married on April 13, 1959 to Johnny R. Contreras, Sr. for 41 years before his death in 2001. Together they created a family of 6 children, Jesse with his wife Tamara, Diana with her husband Raymond Sr., Johnny Jr. Gilbert, Daniel with his wife Jacqueline, & Aurora, along with 3 grandchildren, Raymond Guardiola Jr., Jordan Contreras, & Grace Christy, and 1 great-granddaughter, Olivia Guardiola. Surviving siblings include Joe Duarte, Mary Anne Rodriguez, Lydia Montoya & Samuel De La Rosa along with a host of nieces & nephews and family in the Chicago, IL area.
Funeral services for Jovita will be as follows: Visitation Sunday, October 30, 2016 from 1pm to 9pm with a Catholic Rosary at 7pm to be held at Crespo Funeral Home – Broadway, 4136 Broadway Street, Houston, TX 77087. A Funeral Catholic Mass will be held on Monday, October 31, 2016 at 10am at St. Joseph-St Stephen Catholic Church, 1505 Kane Street, Houston, TX 77007.
