Joyce J. Ivie

Joyce was preceded in death by her son’s Michael Ivie, Marvin “Joe” Ivie, Merlin David Ivie, her grandson Michael Shane Ivie, her mother Dorothy Tice, and her partner Jim Dunlap.

Joyce is survived by her daughter Rebecca Ivie and her son Mark Ivie. Her grandkids David A. Ivie, Michelle Washington, Anna Belle Pigott, Joshua Ivie, Chastity Ivie, Kristine Ivie, Rebecca Gonzales, Robert R. Spraggins Jr., Joseph Michael Ivie, and Chris Platzer. Her great grandkids Stephan 19, Adalynn 9, Timothy 24, Cathleen 23, Jazmen 17, Ashton 16, Cheyenne 11, Oaklynn 1, Aurora newborn, Sotero iii 26, Wyatt 14, and great great grandchild Marcellus 3.

She was a successful entrepreneur with many successful businesses and careers; a few are a store owner, an air courier, and she was even in real estate throughout her lifetime.

She loved to spend time at the beach, reading her books, and enjoying a glass of fine wine. She was a very generous and kind hearted woman who never missed the opportunity to help someone in need.

A visitation for Joyce will be held Tuesday, January 18, 2022 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, January 19, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039. A committal service will occur Wednesday, January 19, 2022 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at Brookside Memorial Park, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039.
