On April 22, 2014 Joyce slipped away peacefully to the arms of the Lord and to join her husband, Kenneth. She grew up in Houston where she met and married her loving husband, Kenneth Otto Ladig. They were married 44 years, and were one of life’s greatest examples of a loving lifelong companionship. Her life revolved around her family. With photos surrounding her of children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, she always had an open door policy and a warmth and loving nature that invited anyone to feel comfortable in her home at any time. She embraced life and always took a special interest in everyone’s wellbeing. Time spent with her family and friends brought the greatest joy to her life. Her life was rich and well lived, surrounded by a circle of family and friends with whom she shared many special moments. A strong woman with incredible resilience, she brought great courage to life and her race is now over. Friends and family described her as elegant, full of grace and dignity. With never a harsh word her caring and compassion showed through in every walk of her life. She enjoyed her friends throughout the years from the church ladies to bridge club. Joyce leaves behind daughter Joan, son Steve, Grandchildren Danny and wife Jenny, Vicki and husband Darin, Taylor and husband Cory, and Blake and fiancée Kristen. With two cherished great grandchildren, Drake and Ryleigh. Extended family includes many nieces and nephews who have been an integral part of her life throughout the years. The family would like to extend a special thanks to those special and caring friends at Treemont, her apartment complex. Linda and Cherry, her care givers, and all of the staff and friends she had made while living at Treemont were special to her everyday life and meant so much to her. Visitation will be Friday April 25, 2014 at 10am at Pat H Foley Funeral Home, with Funeral Service at 11am. In lieu of remembrances, the family requests that any donations you might choose to make be given to Houston Hospice.
Arrangements under the direction of Pat H. Foley & Company, Houston, TX.
