Obituario de Joyce E. Turner
EN EL CUIDADO DE

Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home & Cemetery

Joyce Evelyn Turner (“Gigi”) passed away peacefully on February 6, 2025, saying the Rosary with her family, leaving behind a legacy of strength, love and laughter.

She was born in Lake Charles, Louisiana on January 27, 1921, an only child to Margaret and Ernest Greer.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Cleve Albert Turner (“Steve”) and her mother and father, Margaret and Ernest Greer.

She is survived by her four children, Gordon Turner; Tana Adamo and husband, Sam; Caryn Laliberte and husband, Roland; and Steve Turner and wife, Megan. She was cherished by her seven grandchildren: Jayme Derouen, Julie Hartman and husband, David, Sam Adamo and wife, Jessica, Tammy Massa and husband, Alex, Michael Martin and wife, Lisa, Kellye Wright and husband, Kyle, and Kendall Roberts and husband, Daniel; as well her thirteen great-grandchildren Mason, Heather, Gwendolyn, Lyla, Enzo, Eleanor, Luke, Marek, Lincoln, Eliza, Emily, Evangeline and Milo.

Gigi focused her time and energy on her family and her home. She returned to work at the age of 42 after being widowed with four children, the youngest only 6 months old. She became principal at Town and Country Preschool and Kindergarten. Her no-nonsense approach to life exemplified strength and resilience, navigating life’s challenges with grace and determination. A lifelong Catholic, Gigi took great comfort in her faith and held her family close to her heart.

Gigi was the strong matriarch of the family, known for her sharp intellect and quick wit, often delivering her thoughts with a dry sense of humor that brought joy and laughter to those around her. Her blunt honesty endeared her to many, making her a beloved figure in her family.

An incredible cook, Gigi had a passion for preparing delicious family holiday meals and her cajun recipes were loved by all. For Gigi, a perfect day was seeing her family, gardening, and watching her beloved Houston Astros.

Gigi’s spirit will live on through her family, who will honor her memory by carrying forward her love, humor, and culinary traditions. Rest in peace, Gigi. You will be greatly missed, but your love and legacy will remain in our hearts forever.

Our love and deep gratitude for Gigi’s incredible caregivers, Annmarie and Angie, who cared for Gigi in the most compassionate, professional and loving way until her last moment. They will always remain in our hearts.

A private service will be held at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Province of Saint Ann, Congregation of the Blessed Sacrament, 5384 Wilson Mills Road, Highland Heights, Ohio 44143-3092.
