Joyce Henderson Young

Joyce graduated from Sam Houston University in 1966 and completed her Master’s Degree at the University of St. Thomas several years later.

She worked as a public-school educator for 33 years, serving the Klein Independent School District for most of her career.

As a family, The Youngs were actively involved at Champion Forest Baptist Church.

Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry, after celebrating 57 years of marriage in August of 2024.

She is survived by her children, Jennifer Wall and Jim Young along with granddaughter, Evelyn Rogers. Her sisters Marilyn Kelly and Beverley Dorsett in addition to extended family.

Joyce was a passionate collector of White House Easter eggs and at one time was the holder of the largest collection in the United States.

Family and friends are invited to attend the funeral at American Heritage Funeral Home at 10710 Veterans Memorial Dr, Houston, TX 77038 on Friday, January 10, 2025. Visitation with the family will be from 10:30 – 11:30 AM followed by the service at 11:30 – 12:30.

Interment to immediately follow at Houston National Cemetery.
