Juanene V. Long

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Juanene Crawford Long, beloved daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, who left us peacefully on January 21, 2026, at the age of 91.

Born in Center, Texas on October 25, 1934, to parents Dewitt Halmage Crawford and Lucy Jane Andrews Crawford, Juanene lived a life filled with love, family dedication, and generosity. She met the love of her life, Donley Ray Long, in Houston, Texas, and they were married on July 11, 1952. Juanene dedicated her life to her family and the things she loved most. She had a deep passion for going to the lake, gardening, and cooking, and she found great joy in sharing those moments with family and friends. Her warmth and care touched the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Juanene will be lovingly remembered by her two sons, Michael Dewitt Long and Randall Ray Long; six grandchildren, James Issac Long, April Renee Long, De-Anna Marie Long Barrios, Donovan Ray Long, Kyle Jacob Long, and Kimberly Renee Long; Jennifer Lynn Long; five great-grandchildren, Halye Michelle Long, Madison Nicole Barrios, Sean Kristopher Barrios, Dustin Ray Long, and Zoey Ann Long; and one great-great-grandchild, Summer Renee Long. She is also survived by her sister, Floyce Voncille Deason, as well as countless friends who cherished her warmth and wisdom.

Juanene was preceded in death by her husband, Donley Ray Long; her father, Dewitt Halmage Crawford; her mother, Lucy Jane Andrews Crawford; and her brother, Royce Lee Crawford.

A celebration of Juanene’s life will be held on January 31, 2026, at Bookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Fwy, Houston, TX 77039, beginning at 11:00 AM. Visitation will be January 30, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Family and friends are welcome to attend and share memories.

Pallbearers will be Kyle Long, Kimberly Long, James Long, Dustin Long, Jennifer Long, Joseph Sens, and Michael Lowery.

Though Juanene is no longer with us in person, her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who loved her.

A visitation will be held at Brookside Funeral Home, located at 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas, 77039, on January 30, 2026, from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm.

The funeral service is scheduled for January 31, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm at the same location.

Following the funeral service, a graveside service will take place from 12:30 pm to 1:00 pm.
