With hearts full of love and hope, we share that our precious mother, grandmother, sister, and friend was welcomed home to Heaven on February 7, 2026. She was joyfully reunited with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and with her beloved husband, Doyle Shelton Holder, whom she missed dearly.
She was born on December 17, 1952, in Houston, Texas, to John Thomas Denton and Jewel LaNeigh Denton. From the very beginning, she was known for her kind heart, gentle spirit, and deep love for the Lord.
After losing her husband, she poured her life into serving Jesus and loving children. For the past 19 years, she faithfully volunteered in the children’s ministry at her church, where she found her calling. Teaching Sunday School wasn’t just something she did, it was her joy. Those children were her “babies,” and she loved them like her own, planting seeds of faith that will continue to grow for years to come.
One of the proudest blessings of her life was seeing all of her grandchildren come to know the Lord as their personal Savior and be baptized. Her grandchildren were the light of her life. Being “Nana” was her favorite title, and she treasured every hug, laugh, and moment spent with them. They loved their Nana dearly and will forever carry her love in their hearts.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Doyle Shelton Holder, and her parents, John Thomas Denton and Jewel LaNeigh Denton.
She is survived by her daughters, Robyn Renea Beasley (Jason) and Kimberly Purvis (Malcolm); her grandchildren, Bailey Elizbeth Elliott, Kennedy Grace Elliott, Rebecca Beasley Graham (Brian), Matthew Tyler Beasley, and Calleigh Paige Beasley; and her great-grandsons, Emmett Henry Graham and Easton Carter Graham, whom she was blessed to meet.
She is also survived by her sisters, Peggy LaNeigh Connally (Hulit), Sandra Jean White (Gordon), and Cynthia Sue Gates; her sister-in-law, Evelyn Parrish; along with many nieces and nephews who were blessed to know her love.
Her sweet smile, gentle wisdom, and just the right amount of sass will be missed more than words can say. Her legacy lives on through the children she taught, the family she loved, and the faith she lived out every single day. Though we will miss her dearly, we rejoice knowing she is home; whole, healed, and forever in the presence of Jesus.
