

Judy Ann Green was born on the 14th day of February 1956 at Lafayette Charity Hospital in Lafayette, Louisiana. She was the Valentine’s Day gift to Victor and Mary Green (both preceded her in death) She was their “little bundle” of Love.
Shortly after, Victor moved his family to El Paso, Texas because he was an officer of the Armed Forces. They resided in El Paso until they moved to Houston, Texas where he was offered a job at Parker Brothers Concrete Company.
Judy’s early childhood development began at Isaac Elementary School. She concluded her educational journey at Forest Brook High School, Class of 1975. With much determination, she furthered her education by attending Massey Business College to major in Accounting.
Judy accepted Christ at an early age and became a member of the Community Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Grant White, Fontaine First Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. J.H. Brown and eventually the Spring Antioch Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Eric A. Wilson. Judy sung in the choir with her mother Mary and her daughter, Shontina, establishing three generations in that choir and attended church regularly until her health declined. She enjoyed the fact that she was able to worship the Lord surrounded by family.
This vivacious woman was the epitome of strength and a free Spirit. She loved taking road trips to Lake Charles, Louisiana and could routinely be found traveling there with her family. She loved to visit her favorite cousin Priscilla Savoy.
Judy met and married the love of her life, Alvis Hooper, Jr. on June 27, 1987. This marriage blended two well-known families on Boggess Street, establishing the nucleus of what can be considered the “Boggess Street Bunch”.
Judy is preceded in death by her daughter Shontina Green-Williams and son Dante’ Green. She leaves to mourn her passing: Alvis Hooper, Jr.(husband) Patricia Wilson (Eric Sr.), Sandra Curvey(Artist), Elvee Green(Jacquie) all of Houston, Texas. Grandchildren: Shannon, Tatiana, Coley, Ashlyn, Chase. Nieces and Nephews: Shinika (Julian), Eric (Jaleesa), Kelli (Quinnon), Nichelle (Sherman), Rachel, Erica, Taylor, Kynedi, Cayla, Julian II, Kaiden, Savannah. A loving and devoted son-in-law, Kenneth ”Kenny” Williams. 3 daughters-in-law, Dedra Allen, Lashonda Lacy, Ashley Milligan; six sisters-in-law, Joyce, Shirley, Maria,Cynthia, Mirrian, and Sharon.
