For Judy and Jim,
I was heartbroken to hear of Judy’s passing. She and her husband, Jim, were wonderful people and I have always felt honored to be a part of their family. Their love, caring and generosity, over the many years, have touched a countless number of people, from family and friends, to a wide range charities that helped strangers as well as animals in need.
They each had a marvelous sense of humor and quick wit. They didn’t live their lives needing to be the center of attention or a social group. Instead, their joy and contentment came from being each other’s best friend for the majority of their lives. That’s a beautiful rarity. That also made my acceptance into their family and world, feel even more special.
Jim was the father I never had, but finally got. The lessons learned from him will forever be there to guide me. With so much happening in the world to keep us apart, I’m beyond thankful to have had a final moment with Judy to make her smile, laugh and to share her deep love of music again. I’m a better person for knowing them and their beautiful spirit continues to live on through those of us who were lucky enough to have loved them. Will always miss and love you both.
