Jules Freund Jr.

Jake graduated from Jefferson Davis High School and completed an apprenticeship as a sheet-metal worker. He began his career with Strauss Systems and retired as the Director of Apprentice Training for the Houston Area Sheet Metal Joint Apprenticeship Program. Jake was passionate about training and equipping individuals to provide for their families and become industry leaders. He continued teaching at the school until he was 90, dedicating a total of 65 years to education.

Jake met Yvonne Glick in Houston, Texas, and they married on February 7, 1950. Together, they had two daughters, Kandyce Kay and Kimberly Ann. Jake loved the outdoors, football, country western music, and making new friends.

He is survived by Kandy Patrick and her husband Dennis, Kim Burkhardt, his grandson Luke Patrick and his wife Katherine, and their children Vivienne and Oliver; his granddaughter Molly Accomando and her husband Steven; his granddaughter Hope Patrick; and his grandson Evan Patrick.

A visitation for Jules will be held Wednesday, November 6, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039.
