Julia T. Martinez, of Houston, Texas passed away on April 3, 2022. She was born in Houston, Texas on April 23, 1942, to parents Adela and Fermin Trevino. Julia had a career teaching English as a second language at Nimitz High School for 13 years. Julia was a talented seamstress and cook with a passion for travel. Julia was the Queen of second chances and a beacon of light to all who knew her. She will be missed forever by those who loved and appreciated her.
Julia was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Tony Martinez and several brothers and sisters. She is survived by three children, four grandchildren and one great grandchild. She is also survived by four sisters, many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Serving as pallbearers are Luther Dunn, Robert Garza, Sammy Garza, John Valle and Jude Welcome.
The family will receive friends for a visitation on Monday, April 11, 2022 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., and a funeral service on Tuesday, April 12, 2022, beginning at 10:30 a.m., followed by a burial at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039.
