

She met the love of her life Elijio Martinez in Corpus Christi, Texas and they got married on June 1, 1950. Julia was a member of the Wesley Community Center and the Gano Mission Center. She had a passion for playing bingo, making money, and dressing up. Her legacy will forever live on.
Julia is preceded in death by Uvaldo and Bibiana Hinojosa (parents), Elvira, Elidia, Oralia, Esperanza, Uvaldo Jr., Juan, and Jessie (siblings).
She is survived by (Daughters) Maria Guzman and Cynthia Gomez. (Grandchildren) Sandra Guzman, Vanessa Verrett, Christian Guzman, Salvador Guzman, Francine Gomez, Evelyn Gomez, Jeremy Gomez. (Great grandchildren) Erik Higueron Jr., Izabella Higueron, Isis Higueron, Isadora Lara, Marlen Guzman, Elizabeth Guzman, Ray Guzman, Celestine Guzman, Salvador Leo Guzman, Jasmine Guzman, Cris Pena, Graciela Juarez, Clarissa Gomez, Allieyannah Pena. And (brother) Juan Hinojosa.
Pallbearers: Erik Higueron Jr., Salvador Guzman, Ray Guzman, Nathan Guzman, Bryce Verrett, Justin Hinojosa, David Cuevas, and Rene Aguilar.

A visitation for Julia will be held Monday, June 30, 2025 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039. A funeral service is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, July 1, 2025 at 11:00 AM, in Brookside's Grand Oak Chapel. Burial will take place at Santa Teresa Cemetery, 912 Buschong St, Houston, TX 77039
