

Julian was born to Encarnacion (Chon) and Concepcion (Chonita) Saldivar on January 28, 1933 in Port Isabel, Texas. He graduated from Port Isabel High School 1951 and then served in the United States Air Force for 4 years. He met the love of his life in 1959, Reyna Andrade that November, whom he quickly married and they were happily married for 64 years. Together they raised five children.
After his military service, Julian began working as a shrimp boat captain, navigating the waters of the Gulf of Mexico until he and his family moved to Houston, TX in 1972. While in Houston, he worked construction as a Superintendent along with helping family and friends with any handy work they needed. Julian loved to cook and prepare meals for his family especially his signature seafood.
Julian is survived by wife, Reyna; daughter, Sonia Bagley and husband, Curt; Sons: Martin and Jesse Saldivar; daughter-in-law, Vivan (Bibi) Saldivar; Grandchildren: Brandi Posey, Sandi Marzok, David Morgan Jr., Danielle Morgan, Shayne Saldivar, Tyler Saldivar and Brandon Saldivar; Great Grandchildren: Keira & Sadie Smith and Dakota & Evan Saldivar and Sisters: Guadalupe Rosales and Evelia Garza.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Encarnacion and Concepcion Saldivar; brother, Manuel Saldivar; sons, Julian T. Saldivar Jr and Jaime Saldivar.
A Gathering, Rosary and Military Honors is scheduled for November 30, 2023 at 12:15 pm at American Heritage Funeral Home.
A gathering for Julian will be held Thursday, November 30, 2023 at 12:15 PM at American Heritage Funeral Home, 10710 Veterans Memorial Dr, Houston, Texas 77038. A celebration of life will occur Thursday, November 30, 2023 from 12:45 PM to 1:30 PM, 10710 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, TX 77038. A military honors will occur Thursday, November 30, 2023 from 1:45 PM to 2:15 PM at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr, Houston, TX 77038.
