Kae was born on December 10, 1928 in Seoul, South Korea. She married the love of her life, Kyu Sung Cho, and they stayed together until his passing in 2008. Together, they started a family which grew to 10 children, consisting of 9 girls and 1 boy. With this large and wonderful family, the couple decided to move to America in the early 1970s. They eventually settled on Houston, Texas as their new home, and worked hard to save for their dream of owning their own business. They purchased "Cho's Texaco" in 1976, which became one of the leading service stations in Texas.
By the grace of God, Kae was a beautiful, smart, and vibrant woman who was both hard working and fun loving. She was a devoted wife, caring mother, and the matriarch of the family. Kae leaves behind her loving children including Lisa Oh, Susan Kim, Suzy Santillan, Annie Cho, Ui Culbertson, Daisy Diaz, Nancy Hernandez, Christie Torres, Mark Cho, and Kelly Cho Fisher.
She was blessed to have Nancy Hernandez and family care for her through the last 9 years of her life. Thank you for all your love and care, Nancy! The family would like to give special thanks to Maria Franco and the staff at Lotus Hospice, who took great care of Kae through the final days of her life.
A memorial service will be held at 10am on Monday, August 19, 2019 in the chapel of Memorial Oaks Funeral Home at 13001 Katy Freeway, Houston, Texas 77079 which is on the SE corner of the I-10 and Eldridge intersection. Flowers may be sent directly to this address.
