Kathy Kathy Armstrong Geddes

A beautiful, vibrant life has gone to be with Jesus. Katherine Marie Armstrong Geddes was born in Houston, Texas on July 7, 1934 to Rudy and Elsie Armstrong. She grew up on the family farm in the Aldine area with her parents, her older brother Rudy, and her younger brother Jack.

She graduated in 1951 from Charles Bender high school in Humble, Texas, where she was the school newspaper editor and a member of the pep squad.

She started work at Fisk Electric Company at the age of 17 and worked there for over 54 years, where she was an invaluable and much loved employee to many of her coworkers. She was an active member of Women in Construction (WIC).

She married Wayne Geddes in Houston, Texas in 1963. Their daughter, Jennifer was born in 1964. Wayne, Kathy, Jennifer and Wayne’s first daughter Lynne lived in the Montrose area. Kathy lived in the same Montrose house with sister in law Ann Armstrong after Wayne’s passing in 2006. In 2014, Kathy and Ann moved to the Cypress area to be near family. Kathy and Ann were great friends for over 60 years.

Her brother Jack was the long time pastor at Aldine Christian Church, where she was a lifelong member with other Armstrong family members. She was active in the church choir and taught high school students.

She enjoyed fashion, home decorating, sewing, cooking and entertaining. She was known as an excellent cook especially for her fried chicken. She made clothes for herself and many others, including several wedding dresses.

Even as her health declined, she had a ready smile and a sparkle in her eye ready to greet people. She was loved by all who met her, and she will be missed.
