

A Houston resident since 1973 and a member of St. Martin’s Episcopal Church since 1973 where she taught Sunday School and was a leader for Ladies Bible Study.
Katie was born in New Market Alabama on March 29, 1927, to John and Annie Walls.
She was the youngest of three girls. She attended Huntington College in Montgomery Alabama and received her BS Degree in Education. While attending Huntington College she fell in love with Bev R. Laws and married him shortly after graduation.
Katie had five children. She worked as an English teacher for the majority of her career and retired after 32 years.
Katie was married to Bev for 66 years and it was a true love story. Katie and Bev are joined in heaven with their oldest daughter Lauranne Humphreys and her youngest daughter Kathy Leigh Laws. Katie is survived by Charlie Laws, Rhea Laws and Janie Laws Macey along with their spouses Chrissy Laws, Debbie Laws and Chris Macey along with Lauranne’s surviving spouse Bill Humphreys.
She was blessed with eight grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.
Katie enjoyed tennis, bridge and reading. Her greatest crown of glory were her children and grandchildren.
Katie was a true solider for Christ and showed her love for Jesus daily.
She lived at The Abbey Senior Living for the last seven years.
Mother will be missed dearly by her children and all that knew her.
