Today, we celebrate the beautiful life of our beloved Kaye Laverne Sanders Bullock. Kaye was born on October 6, 1963 to the late Daniel and Arbeatrice Sanders and entered God’s Kingdom on March 28, 2025. Kaye graduated from Enfield High School and briefly attended North Carolina Central University. She relocated various times during her marriage to Anthony Antoine Bullock. She lived in Fairbanks, AK, Goldsboro, NC, Denver, CO, San Antonio, TX and finally settled in Houston, TX. Kaye spent most of her life working in the health care and nursing home industries. Most recently, Kaye was employed by Methodist Hospital as a nurse technician, which she served for over 10 years.
The Bible says, “Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” Kaye accepted Christ earlier in life and was a member of St. Paul Baptist Church in Enfield, NC. She later joined The Church Without Walls in Houston, TX. Kaye lived many of God’s principles, perhaps the greatest among them being that of love, humility and selflessness. Kaye personified the scripture, “Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.” – Philippians 2:4
Kaye was an avid reader, loved history and was a great trivial buff. She enjoyed family vacations and attending sporting events. Kaye enjoyed singing, visiting the Houston Symphony and Theatre District, playing games and planning activities for the family. Her most notable feature was her perpetual and winning smile, followed by her infectious laugh. Kaye’s joy was spending quality time with her grandchildren. Kaye served as a member of the Order of Eastern Star and spent time volunteering at the local food bank. She was also a dedicated United States Air Force wife and USAF mother.
Kaye’s love for her family was immeasurable. Kaye leaves to cherish her loving memory four children: Khadejah Bullock of High Point, NC, Dedric Rashad Bullock (Amanda Bullock) of Houston, TX, Demetrius Antoine Bullock of Houston, TX and Kiara Bullock of Houston, Texas. Five grandchildren, Khamari Bullock of Stonecrest, GA, Kortez Bullock of New Bern, NC, Kaliyah Bullock and Kaijon Bullock of the home, and Saige Bullock of Houston, TX. Two grandpups Ash and Sheba.
She will be missed by her siblings: Kelvin Lamont Sanders (Linda Sanders) of Rocky Mount, NC, Daniel Sanders, Jr. (Jeanette Sanders) of Raleigh, NC, Ellen Gail Burnette (Clarence Burnette) of Enfield, NC, Danielle Sanders Battle (Laurence Battle) of Stonecrest, GA, Ryan Sanders, of Enfield, NC and Phyllis Booker of Brockton, MA. She was preceded in death by brothers Kirk Sanders, Trent Sanders and Thomas Booker, and sister Sheila Booker. She also leaves to celebrate her memory, five aunts, Alice Dixon, Geneva Lynch, and Ruth Wilcox (Clarence) of Boston, MA, Vivian Whitaker of Rocky Mount, NC and Evelyn Douglas of Michigan City, IL., and multitude of cousins, nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Kaye Bullock will be remembered for her devotion to her family, her trust and faith in God, and her generous spirit. Kaye’s love, light, and legacy, will be carried on in the hearts of all the souls she has touched.
