Keeyon Danye’ Williams Sr. was born to Janice Williams and the late Joe Williams on December 6, 1971. He grew up in Houston, Texas where his energy and determination showed at an early age. He began attending church at an early age, and when not on the road, you could find him worshipping at New Hope Baptist Church.
A lively personality, affectionately known as K-Dawg or “Sugar Bear”, and a sports star in high school, he excelled in football, basketball, and track, earning a track scholarship to Lamar University, where he attended briefly. His work ethic, competitive spirit, and determination stayed with him throughout his life and led him in his early 20’s, to truck driving school at J.B. Hunt.
Keeyon was a proud and dedicated truck driver that traveled the highways. He loved the open road and took pride in his work, always providing for his family and making sure everyone he loved was cared for. He worked for a few companies and picked up many brothers, nephews, and lifelong friends along the way. The time away was not on purpose but needed because of his strength and determination to take care of everyone and everything. He was strong in every sense of the word - a man of faith, a provider, a protector to those he loved and someone you could always count on when it mattered most. A man who loved fiercely.
Keeyon had three beautiful children with his partner LaShaunta Martin. In 2001, he married Kendra Grant and to this union he had a son. Later, he welcomed one more son to the Krew.
Keeyon never met a stranger. He had a gift for making everyone feel welcome, seen, and heard. You could count on him to speak his mind, share his advice (because according to him, he was 99% right every time), and bring laughter wherever he went.
Above all, he was a family man who loved his sports, Texas all the way! He loved his children, grandchildren, and family. Those who knew him will remember him as strong, loud, a great host, and full of life - the life of the party. Truly one of a kind!
Keeyon departed this life on June 30, 2025 surrounded by those who loved him the most. His presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit, laughter, and love will live on in all of us who were lucky enough to know him. He is preceded in death by his father, Joe Williams; grandmother, Elizabeth Johnson; granddaughter, Samyah Elizabeth, and a host of other family and friends.
