He was always ready with a joke or tall tale; a man who no one would describe as a “wallflower.” Ken loved his Harley and the trips he would take across the country on it were epic. He had an alternate personality of a biker hidden under the successful businessman.
Employed by Tindal Corporation for many years, Ken landed at a company that also felt like family. He intended to work for the rest of his life and could not imagine retirement. He cared deeply for his co-workers and the company.
He was born in Oneonta, Alabama to the County Sheriff, JC Carr, and Maxine Carr. He is survived by his brother, Jim Carr, also from Oneonta, Alabama. Ken always had jokes and tall tales about his childhood and his unique experiences being one of the “Sheriff’s Boys.” He was always proud of his family and his upbringing. Always said, “Mama raised me right.” And yes, she did.
Married to and survived by Tanya Carr, Ken was always ready to stretch out and work hard for his dreams, he was a wonderful guy to share life’s journey with. This avid “Alabama Crimson Tide” fan loved watching football and most times thought he could call plays better than those on the field. Always generous, respectful, and loving, there will never be another like him. Thanks, Ken, for a Hell of a ride!
Two sons and a daughter survive Ken: Benjamin Perry of Cypress, Texas, Casey Dale Carr, Alabama and Elizabeth Ann Carr of Montgomery, Alabama. Also known as “Pop Pop,” he had five grandchildren and enjoyed that role immensely. Ken tried to pass on to his sons and daughter positive characteristics to help them along their own journeys. He succeeded well with this endeavor and was a proud father.
Ken will rest in the Black Hills of South Dakota and the beautiful beaches of Gulf Shores, Alabama. He was specific in his requests, and we will get him there.
You can be sure that when he entered the gates of heaven, he shouted out a big ole “Roll Tide!”
Donations can be made in Ken's name to any Veterans' organization of your choice.
