Kenney J. McGee, Jr., 80, died Saturday, May 12, 2018, in Houston surrounded by family. Born in Kinder, La. he was the son of the late Kenney J. McGee and Ila McGee. He attended Baton Rouge High School and graduated from Louisiana State University in 1963.
He was a long time member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church. He worked for Texaco, Inc. for 30 years before retiring at the age of 56. He spent the next 16 years enjoying his time with Mary, his wife, and his family at his lake house on Lake Conroe. He traveled extensively with Mary and went on numerous cruises throughout the world. More recently, Kenney enjoyed spending time with his family and working the daily crossword puzzle from the Houston Chronicle.
Kenney is lovingly survived by a son, Jeffrey W. McGee and his wife, Kathleen of Baton Rouge; daughter Catherine E. McGee, of Houston, son, Steven P. McGee and his wife, Jennifer of Houston; son, David B. McGee and his wife, Beth, of Houston; Sisters, Jewel Gurney and her husband Larry, and Joy Parker, and sister-in-law Lena McGee; brothers-in-laws Michael E. Monahan and his wife Darlene, and James P. Monahan and his wife Nancy; and five grandchildren, Jennifer Stephenson, Michelle Graham, and Meghan, Lauren and Kevin McGee. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
