

Beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather & Great-Grandfather, Khaldoon Andrus Ashoo, 93, of Houston, TX, passed away on October 29, 2022. Born in Baghdad, Iraq, to Supreme Court Judge, Andrus E. Ashoo and Mary (Antar) Ashoo.
In 1948, Khal came to America to attend Hope College in Holland, Michigan for Liberal Arts and then transferred to Tri-State College (later became Trine University) in Angola, Indiana, and graduated in December 18,1952, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
In 1955, Khaldoon (Khal) married the love of his life, Hayam (Haddad). They were blessed with three children: Waleed Ashoo, Luay Ashoo and Hala (Ashoo) Awtrey. In 1969, they began a new life in Houston, Texas. Khal was an active member at Central Presbyterian Church. The family moved to Waltham, Massachusetts, in 1972, where Khal worked for Badger Company of Cambridge, Massachusetts. Khal and family moved back to Houston, Texas, in 1980, as Khal began working for Foster Wheeler. Upon early retirement in 1985, Khal opened up Southlake Car Care where he helped everyone fix their vehicles for free or a nominal fee. Upon closing up Southlake Car Care in 1987, Khal worked for Bechtel, Raytheon and Foster Wheeler until his last retirement in 1999. He is a 32nd Degree Freemason.
From 1980 to his last days on Earth, Khaldoon was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church. He was a faithful and loving servant of Christ. He believed God will prevail by answering all prayers. Khaldoon never stopped believing in our Lord and Savior. He was a generous soul. Khaldoon and Hayam’s home was open to anyone and everyone at any given time.
Khaldoon is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Hayam Ashoo, son: Waleed Ashoo and his wife Debra, son: Luay Ashoo and his wife Kimberly, daughter Hala Awtrey and her husband Anthony. Khaldoon leaves behind 8 grandchildren: Dru, Mamie, Noe, Amanda, Kiri, Ryan, Hanny and Heather and 2 great-grandchildren: Ruth and Gareth. Khaldoon leaves behind many family members and friends.

Funeral Service and Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 19, 2022 at 10:00am with Internment at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home, 12800 Westheimer Road, Houston, TX 77077.
