Angeles, California, the eldest son to Aubrey Marlo Armand and Keesha
Marshette Morris-Armand. He grew up with one sister, Azia Armand, one
brother Evien Armand and one sister-cousin Tiaira Nelson. As a toddler,
his warm and friendly gentleman-like personality charmed the masses and
afforded him the nickname “K-MACK” which he certainly lived up to.
K’Len attended elementary, junior high and high school in Houston, Texas.
Upon graduating high school, he pursued a degree in psychology but ultimately
his passion for fashion and interior design led him to become an impeccably
dressed cosmetologist.
K’Len was a cool, calm, laid back kind of guy who loved the color purple, food,
music, and travel. He also loved to sing, dance and be with his family and
adopted family. Although the majority of his family are far and wide, social
media has allowed for instant communication. To K’Len, the color purple was
the perfect compliment to his strong will, zest for life and warrior spirit. His
favorite foods were Italian and Mexican, although he much preferred his
dad’s homemade enchiladas, his sister Azia’s spaghetti and of course his
mom’s macaroni and cheese.
When it came to music, he was a fan of Deborah Cox, Mariah Carey,
Xscape, Gospel singers Marvin Sapp, CeCe Winans, Tamela Mann and Kirk
Franklin. K’len had many travels but the ultimate adventure was his trip to
Singapore where he had his first chance to truly explore and take in what
the world has to offer.
During his college years, K’Len met Ocie Mitchell who instantly became the
big brother that he never had and Julian Batts, who became a great friend.
Julian, Ocie and his family adopted K’len as the baby brother of the family
and have shown nothing but love and support for him. Along with K’Lens’
family, Ocie and Julian proved to be instrumental in supporting him
throughout his illness in his latter years.
Our dear K’len said goodbye to us on April 5, 2020. He will be expressly
missed and never forgotten. His warrior spirit and gentle soul will live on in
all who knew him. He was our earthly hero.
He leaves to cherish his memories: His loving mother Keesha Armand, loving

Acknowledgements
Perhaps you sent a lovely card, Or sat quietly in a chair.
Perhaps you sent a funeral spray. If so, we saw it there.
Perhaps you spoke the kindest words that any friend could say.
Perhaps you were not there at all, just thought of us that day.
Whatever you did to console our hearts, we thank you, whatever the part.
Strength, Love and Blessings to each of you!
The Armand Family
My Defiant Warrior Son
You strove to live alone,
To talk and walk around,
But as the illness was relentless,
You were forced to give-up ground.
God saw you getting tired,
When a cure was not to be.
So He wrapped his arms around you,
And whispered, “Come to me”.
With tearful eyes we watched you
As you slowly slipped away
And though we loved you dearly
We couldn't make you stay.
Your golden heart stopped beating
Your tired hands put to rest
God broke our hearts to prove to us
He only takes the best.
And when I saw you sleeping,
So peaceful and free from pain
I could not wish you back,
To suffer that again.
You did not deserve to suffer more
So He set you down to rest.
To God’s garden you are surely bound,
So to sit with all the best.
To Those I Love and to Those Who Love Me
When I am gone, release me let me go.
I have so many things to see and do,
You mustn't tie yourself to me with too many tears,
But be thankful we had so many good years.
I gave you my love, and you can only guess
How much you've given to me in happiness.
I thank you for the love you each have shown,
But now it's time I travel on alone.
So grieve for me a while, if grieve you must,
Then let your grief be comforted by trust.
It is only for a while that we must part,
So treasure the memories within your heart.
I won't be far away, for life goes on.
And if you need me, call and I will come.
Though you can't see or touch me, I will be near,
And if you listen with your heart, you'll hear,
All my love around you, so soft and clear.
And then, when you come this way alone,
I'll greet you with a smile and a “Welcome Home”.
