He is also survived by his sisters Elizabeth Moreno, Diane Casares, and Patricia “Tricia” Flores and his many loved nieces and nephews from the Flores and Gomez family. Larry is remembered by all the lives he touched in his time here with us.
Larry was born in Houston, Texas on January 1st, 1958 to Stella and Eddie Flores. Taken care of and loved by his extended family, Larry grew up with a strong work ethic and an even stronger love for his family. He is predeceased by the many people who shaped his life: Maria and Pedro Becerra, Virginia Carranza, and Juan “Johnny” de Leon, and even many more that he loved dearly. Larry worked for the Houston Chronicle for forty-eight years as an Independent Distributor. In his time with the company, he fostered many strong friendships. Larry Flores was someone who could make a friend no matter where he went. A lover of bowling, golf, and dancing, he was a lively person who was best known for his sense of humor. Larry had a strong sense of morals, but also a healthy appreciation of life, and a great love of getting to know people and helping them where he could. This was best shown in the later parts of his life. As a dialysis patient, he was appointed the Fresenius Kidney Care Clear Lake clinic’s Patient Advocate in which he served as a bridge between the staff and the patients. The Flores family extends their thanks to the Fresenius Kidney Care Clear Lake clinic, patients, and staff for taking care of him and helping him through tough times. The Flores family also extends their thanks to his best friend Joel Leija and his family who has helped the family tremendously in these tough times, and many others.
