

LaTashia was born on July 9, 1986 at Jeff Davis Hospital in Houston, TX. Her birth brought immediate joy and laughter into the world and to her parents Michael (Shabazz) Bates Sr. & Phylicia (FeFe) Holiday. She was educated in Houston Independent School District.
LaTashia Rochelle Bates, also known as “Tashia” & Or “Sunshine”, had a strong work ethic and over the years prided herself on developing multiple streams of income. After attending school, she jumped head first into the entrepreneurial world and dedicated herself to pursuing many business ventures. She was a true hustler and stood firm in what she believed in.
LaTashia professed her faith in Christ and became a member of Southwest Faith Church, under the leadership of Reverend Alvin Moten. She was baptized as a young child under the guidance of Reverend Moten.
LaTashia Rochelle Bates is preceded in death by her two Paternal Grandparents, and beautiful Aunts Amy (Chaney) Bates-Patterson and Sandy Lynn Bates-LaDay. She is survived by her parents Michael (Shabazz) Bates Sr. & Phylicia (FeFe) Holiday. Her four sisters Ashley Bates, Tearra Bates, Cashayla Bates, and Christazchai Bates-Kendrick. Her three Brothers Michael Bates Jr., Jamarcus Lawrence, and Michael Bates III. Her grandmother Brenda Brooks, and a host of relatives and friends.
To cherish her memory, LaTashia leaves behind four daughters, Diamond Rochelle Bradley; Iyanna Fye Towner; Ariel Nugent; Anastasia Nugent; and two sons, Malik Elijah Bates and Eric Robinson Jr.
LaTashia Rochelle Bates was taken so soon. She lived an extraordinary life and was surrounded by people who loved her. She will be missed dearly and will always be remembered as “Big Red”. She definitely left her mark on the world, her legacy is here forever, and she will never be forgotten.
