Laura Barbara Crabtree

Laura Barbara Crabtree was born on August 7, 1932 to George J. and Antoinette A. Knopp, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Houston, Texas. She graduated from St. Agnes Academy in 1950 and attended the University of Texas and the University of Houston. Laura & Robert Crabtree married on February 1, 1969. He preceded her in death in 2009. Laura worked for Texaco Inc. for 32 years in the Comptroller's Dept.

Laura was a member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church, where she served as a Lector and an Extraordinary Minister for many years. She was also President of the Women's Club for 2 terms. Laura was involved in a home Scripture Study (Disciples in Mission)for many years and hosted the group in her home for several years. Her group was affectionately known as the “Dimwits.” Laura was also involved in counting the Sunday money collection for a number of years.

Laura passed away on January 26, 2025 at Brookdale Memorial Oaks Senior Living, Memory Care. Additional care was given by Next Level Hospice. Laura's Father, Mother, Cousins, & other family members and friends precede her in rest. One Cousin, Bobby Broussard and his daughter, Debbie & sister in law Jimmye Frost's daughter, Pam Smith & a few friends survive her.

A rosary for Laura will be held Tuesday, February 11, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 625 Nottingham Oaks Trail, Houston, Texas 77079. Funeral Mass will be Tuesday, February 11, 2025 at 10:30 AM. Committal service will be Tuesday, February 11, 2025 at 11:30 AM at Memorial Oaks Cemetery, 13001 Katy Fwy, Houston, Texas 77079.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make a donation to M.D. Anderson Cancer Center or to St. Agnes Academy.
