Nettie LaVurn Campagna, lovingly known as “Vernie”, was born on March 4, 1923 in Damon, Texas to Clarence Henry "Bud" Hobbs and Mamie Pauline Isham. She passed away surrounded by her family on September 23, 2018, at the age of 95.
On January 23, 1946, LaVurn married Angelo Lawrence Campagna. As a stay at home mother, LaVurn raised four children. In addition to being an excellent seamstress, LaVurn was a sales manager for Luzier Cosmetics. LaVurn served as the President of the Houston Restaurant Association Women's Auxiliary. She had a life-long love for dancing.
LaVurn is preceded in death by her parents and husband and is survived by her children: Carole S. Pesce, husband Joe, A.C. Campagna, wife Suzi, Dianne Pekema, husband James and Michelle Wagner, husband, Dan.
Also left to cherish LaVurn’s memory are her many grandchildren: Michelle Sullivan Bettez, Christopher Campagna, Alicia Pekema Lippman, Stacy Patane, Jesse Pekema, Marc Routzong, Scott Routzong, Mallory Wagner and Samantha Wagner.
Great grandchildren include Gabrielle Bettez, Sara Bostaph, Megan Campagna, Nicholas Campagna, C.J. Patane, Cain Pekema and Layne Pekema, Charlotte Routzong, Jackson Routzong, Madison Routzong and Olivia Routzong. Great-great grandchildren include Charlie Mack, Kyleigh Mack. She was a loving and fun grandmother and had many nicknames which include Ammom, G-Bird, Gigi and Grams. Vernie has two siblings Estelle Proske and Arthur Sauter.
Serving as pall bearers, are Christopher Campagna, James Pekema, Jesse Pekema, Marc Routzong, Scott Routzon and Dan Wagner.

The family wishes to acknowledge and give thanks, to the caregivers who helped and comforted LaVurn in the last few months.
Visitation for LaVurn will be conducted on Wednesday, September 26th from 5 o’clock until 7 o’clock in the evening, in the chapel of Memorial Oaks Funeral Home. A vigil service will follow, beginning at 7 o’clock in the evening. The interment will be private.
