He was born in Houston, Texas on September 1, 1967.
Larry graduated from Magnolia High School and attended Rogers State University in Claremore, Oklahoma for a year and a half before joining the Navy.
He married Kristal Howard McKellop on October 14, 2022.
Larry had a career in RF Engineering for Corning, Securus Technologies, American Tower, Verizon Wireless, Sprint/Nextel Communications, Voicestream Wireless, and AT&T Wireless (Metro Cell). He was a member of the U.S. Navy from 1989 - 1993 as an Avionics Technician.
He had a passion for Oklahoma Sooner (OU) Football, Houston Astros Baseball, cooking, grilling, fishing, and spending time with family.
Larry is survived by his spouse, Kristal Howard McKellop; his son Colby Curtis McKellop (Sarah McKellop) of Grapevine, Texas; his son David Harper of Montana; his step-son Joey Perri of Conroe, Texas; and his step-daughter Presley Sofia of Conroe, Texas; his brother Park A. McKellop of Point Pleasant, West Virginia, his sister Shirley A. Freeman of Ochelata, Oklahoma, his sister Michele V. Smith of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, his sister Linda L. Martin of Houston, Texas and his sister Cindy L. Stein of Tomball, Texas; his granddaughter Aaliyah NaCall McKellop and his granddaughter Jada McNutt and many nieces and nephews.
Larry was preceded in death by his daughter Lauren NaCall McKellop; his father James Albert McKellop and his mother Helen Mae McKellop; his brother James Albert McKellop Jr.; his brother Michael G. McKellop; his brother James J. McKellop; his sister Alberta McKellop and his sister Helen L. Pasdach.
A visitation for Larry will be held Wednesday, November 9, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at American Heritage Funeral Home, 10710 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, TX 77038. A funeral service will occur Thursday, November 10, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, 10710 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, TX 77038. A committal service will occur Thursday, November 10, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Houston National Cemetery, 10710 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, TX 77038.
Serving as pallbearers are Colby McKellop, Frankie Everett, Tim Dudley, Tom Christensen, John Holt, Buckey D. Stephens, David Harper and Shane Howard.
