Lee Daugherty, known as Mama Lee by the members of her church family at Charis City Church of Katy, Texas. Passed away on Saturday, February 1, 2025 at the age of 95. Lee was born in Hamilton, Ohio. Where she grew up and graduated from Hanover High School.
In her youth, she worked as a Switchboard Operator in Hamilton, Ohio. Then moved to Houston, Texas and worked as an Accounting Clerk with Montgomery Wards.
She was actively involved in Church, singing in the choir, participant in the Christian Women's Fellowship (Women's Ministry). Even singing in the Billy Graham Crusades Choir in the Houston Astrodome.
Lee loved to travel anywhere, anytime. She and Bob cruised many times and continued to travel for some time after Bob's passing.
Lee was preceded in death by her spouse Robert (Bob) Daugherty and granddaughter Courtney Michelle Wallace.
Lee is survived by her two daughters, Linda Wallace (Scott Wallace); and Susan Burton (Aaron Burton), 5 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank Synergy Home Care, her caregivers, in particular Loretta Montgomery; also Gentiva Hospice for the care and compassion they showed our loved one in her final days.
A visitation for Lee will be held Saturday, February 15, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home, 12800 Westheimer Road, Houston, TX 77077. A funeral service will occur Saturday, February 15, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, 12800 Westheimer Road, Houston, TX 77077. A committal service will occur Saturday, February 15, 2025 from 3:00 PM to 3:30 PM at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery, 12800 Westheimer Rd, Houston, TX 77077.
