Lee Norris Givens

Lee Norris Givens, known to many as “Poncho” was born on August 18, 1946, in Galveston, Texas, to Bishop Givens and Ona Estella Givens. He later moved to Shiro, Texas, and also later to Huntsville, Texas, to live with his grandparents. He attended Sam Houston High School. Joined Mt. Calvary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. J.W. Williams.

Lee met and married Dollie Johnson, and to this union, one child was born, Russell Wayne Givens.

Lee was preceded in death by his parents, Bishop and Estella Givens; brothers, Archie Givens, and Clint Bullock; sister, Norma Jena Stenson.

Lee Givens is survived by his son Russell Givens (Twanette) of Fort Worth, Texas; brothers, Jarvis Givens and Larry Givens of Galveston, Texas; Fred Adam of Houston, Texas; grandchildren, Markita Givens, Quentin Givens, and Trenton of Fort Worth, Texas; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, friends and neighbors.

A visitation for Lee will be held Saturday, August 26, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Midway Baptist Church, 12082 FM 2620, Shiro, TX 77876. A funeral service will occur Saturday, August 26, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, 12082 FM 2620, Shiro, TX 77876. A committal will occur Saturday, August 26, 2023 from 12:15 PM to 12:45 PM at MIDWAY CEMETERY, 12082 FM 2620, Shiro, TX 77876.
