

Iris Leola (Cox) Brevard, 79, passed peacefully in the early morning of Friday, March 4, 2022, at her home in Buffalo, Texas. “Lee” was born on December 9, 1942 to Arthur and Opal Cox in Panama City, Florida. She and her husband, Joseph N. Brevard were married September 25, 1961 and just celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.
She was extremely dedicated to her husband, children, grandchildren, and all of her extended family, as well as her two dogs, Nico and Mia. Lee was known by many names to those who loved her: Mom, Omi, Lolo and GrandLo.
Lee worked as a paralegal for more than 40 years and for Mossman, Kumar, & Tyler from October of 2009 until December of 2021. She also volunteered at the Leon County Food Pantry in Buffalo.
Lee and Joe loved to go camping, taking Mia and Nico with them. Many trips were taken with Terri Lynn, Wayne and their families. Lee loved working in her garden and had many beautiful flowers. Her house was the site of countless Thanksgiving, Christmas and birthday celebrations with all of the extended family.
Lee is survived by her husband, Joseph N. Brevard of Buffalo, Texas; her children, Leigh Ann (Brevard) Martin and husband George Martin Jr. of Frisco, Texas; and Alan Brevard and wife Stacy Brevard of Cypress, Texas; her three grandchildren Michael Brevard, Olivia Martin, and Sophia Martin; her nieces Terri Lynn Stanley with husband John; Debbie Brown with husband Johnnie; her nephews Wayne Sides with wife Cathy and Richard Sides; and a multitude of great nieces, great nephews and many, many friends. Lee is now reunited with her parents and her sisters Barbara Jane (Cox) Dietrich and Mary Ella (Cox) Sides.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Monday, March 7, 2022 from 5:00pm-8:00pm at Pat H. Foley Funeral Home, 1200 W 34th, Houston, Texas, 77018.
Funeral services will be held at Memorial Oaks Cemetery, 13001 Katy Freeway, Houston, Texas, 77079, graveside service only, on Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at 12:00pm.
