One of seven children born to Czech parents Mary (Wagner) and Jerry Migl, Leroy was born on February 5, 1946 in Flatonia, Texas and was raised in Moulton, Texas. Leroy attended Novohrad School and graduated from Sam and Will Moore High School before moving to Houston to attend the University of Houston. He became a tool and die maker with Keystone Engineering before working at Globemaster and Trophy Products for over 30 years, and Igloo Coolers until his retirement. He met his beautiful bride and love of his life, Margaret Ann (Vala) Migl, during a dance at SPJST Lodge 88, Houston. They were married on June 22, 1968 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church and had twin daughters, Marlene and Darlene. Family was the most important part of life for Leroy - family get-togethers, road trips, vacations, holidays, and just spending time together. He was especially proud of his two grandsons Nathan and Jered, and loved being Papaw most of all. He will be remembered for his entertaining stories and jokes. He also enjoyed fishing, boating, playing dominoes, coin collecting, and fixing things. Leroy was proud of his Czech heritage, and was a 52-year member of SPJST Lodge 88, Houston.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Preceded in death by his wife Margaret, his parents, sister Patsy Michna, and brother David Migl. Survived by his twin daughters Marlene Migl Satterwhite and Darlene Migl Polly, sons-in-law Stephen Satterwhite and Mark Polly, grandchildren Nathan Polly and Jered Polly, one brother, three sisters, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends. S Pánem Bohem (a Czech blessing meaning “Go with God”).
