Lester Roy Hoffmeister was born on September 7, 1927 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. He passed away on February, 27, 2013 in Kingwood, Texas and is reunited with his wife, Regina L. Hoffmeister, who preceded him in death. Lester attended Central High School where he enjoyed playing sports and was the captain of his football team. Lester proudly served his country along with his twin brother, Chester, in the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S Carteret which participated in the atomic bomb test in Operation Crossroads at Bikini Atoll. After his service in the the U.S. Navy, he worked and retired from Southern Pacific Railroad after 35 years of faithful service. Lester cherished the time he spent with his three grandchildren: Jaclyn, Philip and Rachel. He is also remembered for his devotion to his daughters: Leslie Keyes and husband Mickey, Karen Rice and husband Mark. Funeral Services will be at 3PM on Sunday, March 3rd with visitation beginning at 2PM. Services will be held at Brookside Funeral Home Grand Chapel. Private burial will follow in Houston National Cemetery at a later date.
