Leta N. Korkki was born on August 14, 1926 and called home to our Lord on February 17, 2012. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Roy and son Douglas. She is survived by her daughter Karen and husband Mark Newell, sisters Mary Langham and Patsy Lovell, and dear caretaker of 15 years, Delois Alexander. Leta was a third generation Texan and a true reflection of the greatest generation. She deeply loved and sacrificed for her children. The family wants to thank the staff of St. Dominic Nursing Home for the wonderful care they gave Leta for the last six years as her Alzheimer’s progressed. They also want to thank the staff at Memorial Hermann ACE unit and Vitas Hospice for the wonderful care she received these last three weeks. Graveside services to be held in San Antonio, TX. In lieu of flowers, the family would like to honor her memory with donations to the Alzheimer’s Association or St. Dominic Nursing Home.
