Lillian "Paddy" McCloskey

Lillian Patricia “Paddy” Flanary McCloskey passed away in her home on Tuesday, October 20, 2015, just 8 days shy of celebrating her 80th birthday. As a wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, her passion of faith and love of family carried her throughout her life. Paddy was born on October 28, 1935 in Sheffield, Alabama to Paul and Lillian Flanary. She is survived by her loving husband of nearly 60 years, John Patrick “Jack “ McCloskey and seven children: Nancy and husband, Jim Moore; Jim McCloskey and wife, Michele; Tim McCloskey and wife, Monica; Julie and husband, Mike Koch; Mary and husband, Eric Sedbrook; Bill McCloskey and wife, Sharon; and Kathy and husband Chris Carter. Twenty grandchildren: John Moore and wife Jenny, Sarah and husband Vince Rapp, Carrie and husband Joe Swinsinski; Will, Kimberley and Mia McCloskey; Shannon, Tyler and Amanda McCloskey; Annie and husband Sean Finney, Jackie, Thomas and Stephen Koch; Molly and Matthew Sedbook; Sydney, Haley and Riley McCloskey; Kathryn and Allyson Carter. And five great grandchildren: Trey, Caden and Catherine Rapp; Hannah and Dennis Alexander. She is also survived by brother, Thomas Neale Flanary and wife, Joan of Williamsburg, VA; stepmother Katherine Parsons Flanary of Clearwater, FL and numerous cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents Paul and Lillian Flanary; son, Peter James McCloskey; grandson Ryan Dean Sedbrook and great grandson Wyatt Joseph Swinsinski.

In Lieu of Flowers memorials may be made to a charity of your choice in Paddy’s name.

Services: Visitation – Sunday, 5:30 to 7 followed by Rosary at Memorial Oaks Funeral, A Celebration of Life Mass on Monday, 10:30 at St. John Vianney, followed by graveside service at Memorial Oaks Cemetery. A reception will take place after the Committal Service at St. John Vianney Catholic Church.
