It is with deep love and sadness that we announce the passing of a remarkable mother, Nana and friend. She lived a life filled with laughter, connection, and unmistakable spirit—leaving behind a legacy defined by her vibrant personality, love of family, sharp wit and tenacity.
Linda was born the 27th of August 1953 in Houston, Texas to Bobbie and Mackie Caves and was the oldest of four siblings. She stayed in Houston throughout her life and worked in the safety industry for the majority of her career until she retired happily at the age of 65 to spend more time with her daughter and grandchildren.
She was truly one of a kind: kindhearted, selfless, endlessly funny, and effortlessly engaging. Her sense of humor could light up any room, and her presence made every gathering better. A natural host, she had a special gift for party planning—bringing people together with warmth, style, and a touch of fun that was uniquely her own.
She found joy in life’s simple pleasures as well. She loved gardening and creating floral arrangements and took pride in creating beauty wherever she could. She was an enthusiastic and fierce poker player who cherished time spent around the table with friends, where laughter and camaraderie were always in abundance.
Within her independent living community, she was a beloved and social presence. She formed meaningful friendships and was known for her lively conversations, quick humor, and genuine interest in others.
Above all, she was deeply devoted to her family. Her greatest joy was being a mother to her only daughter, Ashley, whom she loved beyond measure. That love only grew when she was promoted to "Nana", with the arrival of her two grandchildren, Lily and James, who brought her endless pride and happiness. She treasured every moment with them and will undoubtedly hold a special place in their hearts forever.
She was also devoted to her beloved Yorkie, Beau, who brought her comfort, companionship, constant joy and was always by her side.
She will be remembered for her warmth, her humor, her intelligence, and the love she gave so freely. Her absence leaves a space that cannot be filled, but her spirit—bright, bold, and full of life—will live on in the many lives she touched.
She is preceded in death by her parents as well as her sister, Tammy and her brother, Michael.
She is survived by her husband, Aaron Kreisler; daughter, Ashley Lemming and her husband, Ben; her two cherished grandchildren, Lily and James; her brother, Mackie Caves; and her beloved dog, Beau.
A service to celebrate Linda’s life is to be conducted at ten o’clock in the morning on Saturday, the 18th of April, in the Jasek Chapel of Geo. H. Lewis & Sons, 1010 Bering Drive in Houston. Immediately following, all are invited to join the family during a reception in the adjacent grand foyer.
The family will gather for a private interment at Forest Park East Cemetery in Webster.
