

Liza Mott Byrd Kutner, 66, died peacefully at home in Houston, Texas on June 26th after an amazing climb alongside cancer. She was born on the 25th of October 1946 in Houston, and was preceded in death by her parents Lloyd and Clifton Byrd, and her sister Linda Lloyd Byrd Seely. Liza is survived by her children, Malcolm James Kutner III and Kate Lloyd Kutner; her brother Clifton Byrd, Jr. and his wife Kathleen; niece Kristen Byrd Summers, and nephew Carter Clifton Byrd. She also leaves to mourn her passing a longtime family friend Rosa Olivo and a faithful canine companion named Putter.
Her family thanks many friends for their thoughts and prayers, and gives special thanks to Dr. H. Alejandro Preti and his Cancer Advice team at The Methodist Hospital, and to Houston Hospice. Much gratitude also goes to the staff at Chapelwood United Methodist Church and the Stephen Ministers there, to which she joyfully devoted so much of her life.

There will be a memorial service for Liza at two o'clock in the afternoon on Thursday, July 11th at Chapelwood United Methodist Church, 11140 Greenbay Drive in Houston, where Liza was a member since 1958. There will be a reception immediately following the service in the Fellowship Hall for all friends and family to celebrate Liza.
