Lois Ann Heath, 82, of Katy, TX passed away peacefully on February 28, 2026 in Richmond, TX after a long battle with cancer and Parkinson’s.
A memorial service will be held in Quincy, IL the last week of May. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to MD Anderson Cancer Center or Foster Village Houston to honor her fight with cancer and her dedication to supporting foster families and children over the years.
Lois was born on January 14, 1944, in Quincy, IL to Oscar and Margaret Brinks. She was class of 1962 at Notre Dame high school in Quincy, and later earned her degree from Fontbonne University in St. Louis, MO in 1966. On August 27, 1966, she married Randy Heath in her home town of Quincy.
Before starting her family, she worked as an administrative assistant, and later opened her own secretarial business out of her home. She went on to become a medical transcriptionist in San Antonio, where she worked until her retirement.
Lois’s faith in God was deep and sustained her through many trials. She instilled this deep faith in all of her children, teaching them how to know God and lean on His strength.
Lois loved her family deeply and took great pride in the accomplishments of her children and grandchildren. Her love of family led her to discovering her true passion; genealogy. She spent many years researching to uncover her family’s story and history, tracing her ancestors as far back as she could, and ultimately writing a book about the Brinks family.
She was fun-loving and always enjoyed a good laugh or playful prank. One of her most defining qualities was her strong sense of justice; she was never afraid to stand up for those who had been wronged, regardless of the consequences.
Lois is preceded in death by her husband Randy Heath, brother Jim Brinks, and parents Oscar and Margaret Brinks.
Lois is survived by her children Todd Heath (Lisa), Clint Heath (Rebecca), Scott Heath (Amy), and Jenny Botens (Mike); her grandchildren, Lindsey, Kendall, Annie, Nathan, Viktoria, Jacob, Ansley, Gideon, Phoebe, and Galen; her brother Larry Brinks and sister Mary Kay St. Onge.
The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Three Oaks Hospice who supported us through it all for the last two years, her nurse of three years, Cyndie Tran for walking with us through tough decisions, Pastor Todd Rapp, who prayed with her when she was afraid, Deacon David from St. John Vianney, who supported her spiritually through her final months, and the staff of Affectionate Care Assisted Living, who provided such compassionate care during her final days. We take comfort in knowing she is now at peace in the presence of the Lord, reunited with those who went before her. Her love and example will continue to guide and inspire her family for generations to come.
