

Lois was a lifelong resident of Houston, where she attended Lamar High School in its opening year. She later went to Arlington Hall in Washington, D.C., and returned to Texas to attend The University of Texas, where she was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha. Lois was active in The Girl Scouts, First Presbyterian Church of Houston as a pianist in the youth program, The Blue Bird Circle, The Junior League, The L B Garden Club, and The River Oaks Country Club. She also belonged to several dance clubs where she loved to dance with her husband, Thain.
Lois loved people of all ages and was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. Lois was always upbeat and smiling and will be missed dearly.
Lois is preceded in death by her parents, Catherine and Donald Berry; and her husband and love of her life, Thain Leonard.
She is survived by two daughters, Catherine Hutchison and Liz Happel; five grandchildren, Thain Allen, Clay Allen, Tyler Allen, Liza Happel, and Mary Catherine Ocampo; and two great grandchildren, Natalie and Jacob Ocampo.
The family wishes to thank the staff at The Hallmark, and especially Maria Guevara, who was a constant companion and friend, for their love, concern, and compassionate care.
The memorial service is to be conducted at two o’clock this afternoon, Thursday, the 21st of June, in the Chapel of First Presbyterian Church, 5300 Main Street in Houston, where Dr. Wm. “Bill” Heston, Executive Pastor, is to officiate.
Immediately following, all are invited to greet the family during a reception in the lounge of The Hallmark, 4718 Hallmark Drive in Houston.
