Lonnie received his formative education from the Houston Public School District.
While cherishing time and enjoying life, God decided to cross Lonnie’s path with a beautiful angel named Marie Elizabeth Champagne. Smitten by her beauty and intelligence Marie was deemed the love of his life. They were married in June 1958 and to this union came seven children.
Lonnie accepted Christ as his personal Lord & Savior in 1960. Lonnie worked for the City of Houston and was honored for his dedication and hard work by then Mayor Louie Welch.
Preceding Lonnie in death is his Mother & father Eddie Lou & Nathaniel Austin, his wife Marie E. Austin, & his son Marshall Austin. 4 sisters Mary, Bernie, Norma Jean & Mercy and his brother Nathaniel Austin also His grandmother Louiza Eaton.
