She is survived by her husband Jim, her children Sarah Elizabeth age 8 and John Ivan age 5, her parents George and Gerry Twar of Virginia Beach, VA, Uncles Larry and Beth Keeling of Frankfort KY, and Dennis and Anne Keeling of Millbrook, AL. She is also survived by Bill and Nancy Costigan Talbott of Hays, KS, Jayne and Roy Inlow of Hays, KS, Jennifer and Andy Burr of Salina, KS, Jeanne Costigan of Lawrence, KS, and by and cousins Jeffery Keeling, Ramstein, Germany, Angie Towry of Millbrook, AL, and Patrick Schmidt of Louisville, KY, and Beth Bersot of Louisville, KY, and the entire Twar family.
Lora was raised in Park Ridge, IL on the outskirts of Chicago. She is a graduate of Valparaiso University and received her MBA from DePaul University. She spent most of her professional life as a marketing executive. She was a very loving mother, avid decorator, and a natural organizer. She served St. Aidan’s Church as the Marketing Coordinator. Lora was a model of how to battle cancer with dignity and courage; she galvanized a number of communities that provided support to her, her family, and each other, notably Lora’s Prayer Warriors.
Lora leaves a legacy of love, friendship, and joy in the numerous lives she touched. She was a blessing to all who knew her, and many who only knew of her. Words cannot express how saddened we are by the loss and how fortunate we were to have been blessed by her.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Research in Lora’s name, or to a trust fund being established for her children John and Sarah through St. Aidan’s Episcopal Church in Cypress, TX.
