He was preceded in death by his mother Santos Lara and his brother Jean. His father was a soldier who unfortunately went missing in action. He was survived by his siblings Maria Dolores (tía Chepa), Mary, Gonzalo, Lupe and Ernesto; his sons Lorenzo (wife Ana), Jose (wife Zulema), Luis (wife Maria) and Julio (wife Ashley) and various nieces and nephews.
His grandchildren (Lorenzo) Giovani, Xavier, Desirey, Alexis, Johnny, Jordan and Ashley: (Jose) Jose Jr., Yasmine and Natalie; (Luis) Merced, Luis, Leonardo, Maximiliano and Jose; (Julio) Minha and JC. His great grandchildren Katalina, Aria, Ivery and Sadie.
Lorenzo was a great father who raised his four sons, he was a great father-in-law that treated his daughters-in-law as his own. He was a loving grandfather that will be missed very dearly by his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was a cowboy at heart (John Wayne his alter ego) and loved watching westerns and football. He attended Mass every Sunday and on special feast days at St. Stephen Catholic Church and held a special devotion to the blessed mother Our Lady of San Juan de Los Lagos. He always felt that it was important to place your children first and to love and sacrifice for them. He made himself loved wherever he went by just being himself. He may have had only four sons, but his family extends far beyond that due to the love he gave and received. His time here may have been short but the memories he leaves behind will go on for generations. His family loved him and will miss him now that he has passed.
Lorenzo you were ready, but our hearts were not, and we rest confidently trusting in God’s loving grace holding you in His arms in paradise. Ride on cowboy, ride on… into the sunset and into God’s kingdom. We love you!
A visitation for Lorenzo will be held Saturday, February 22, 2025 from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Crespo, 4136 BROADWAY ST, HOUSTON, TX 77087, followed by a funeral service from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
