

Lorna Casciel Ludtke McCormick was born in Houston, Texas on August 7, 1923. She was a fourth generation Houstonian and attended Sam Houston High School. Casciel passed away peacefully on July 29, with Judy by her side just nine days short of her 87th birthday. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 61 years, William H. McCormick; mother, Lorna Chlastak; father, Leland B. Ludtke; and sister, June Laverne Moore. She is survived by her daughters, Diann M. Whisennand, and Judy Martino and husband James. Grandchildren, Cynthia Weaver and husband, Michael; William R. Whisennand and wife Susan; Brenda Duane and husband, Michael; Amy Green and husband, Michael; Heather Whisennand and husband, Nick; and Richard Whisennand. Great grandchildren, Taylor and Allison Weaver, William Whisennand, Katelynn and Zachary Duane; Larek and Hampton Green; Elissa and Dylan Boyce; and Warner Grandfield, Kyilye and Madison Whisennand, numerous nieces and nephews and her precious pets, Sassy, Sugar and Simba. A special thank you to Julie and Juan Beltran for their loving care and devotion to Casciel and her family. Her greatest pride and joy was her family and the times we shared together. Her greatest gift was teaching us to love unconditionally and to treasure our family and friends. Visitation will be held at Memorial Oaks Cemetery on Friday, August 6, from 5:00-8:00 pm followed by a celebration of her life on Saturday, August 7, at 10:00 am.
