Louis Ray Godwin, aged 96, passed away peacefully on 7th July 2024 at Presbyterian Hospital in Denton, Texas. He was born on April 11th, 1928 in Bonita, Texas to Vera & Everitt Godwin. He was a proud resident of Spring, Texas and a WWII Veteran, he was a graduate of Texas Christian University class of 1954. He was married to Carrie L Godwin on November 25th, 1966 in Houston, Texas. He worked as General Manager of OK Bud Moore Finance Corp for over 40 years. He was very well loved by family, friends, and the community as he was always the first one to help anyone in their time of need. He had the ability to make anyone laugh and always had a story to tell. His famous words were “don’t let them steal your joy”.
He is survived by his Wife, Carrie L. Godwin, son’s David and Dan Godwin, daughters Raelyn Solice and LeAnn Perrin and son-in-law Kyle Perrin, Grandchildren Jeremy Godwin, Jayme Godshaw, Lauren Solice and Olivia Perrin, Great grandchildren; Dakota Godwin and Maevis Godshaw, many nieces, and nephews.
He is proceeded in death by his father, mother, sisters, son James Godwin and son-in-law Ronne Solice.
