

Louis Phillip Migues (Sr) passed away on Friday 20 September 2019 at the age of 83. Louis was born on 23 July 1936 in Crowley, Louisiana (Acadian Hospital) to Mark and Marie Migues, he was the third son of four boys. He grew up on the family cattle and rice and farm in Midland, Louisiana. Louis liked to rodeo and rode bulls until he was injured but continued as a rodeo clown (bull fighter). Rice farming was not what Louis wanted to do , he attended LSU to be a large animal veterinarian but entered the oilfield after two years. Louis married Mae Rose Gautreaux in 1955. He started with National Supply (NOV) and was later hired by Global Marine Drilling and was involved with one of the first jack up drilling rigs to work the North Sea ( 1963/64). Louis was one of the founding members of Atwood Oceanics in 1968. J Lauritzen approached Louis in 1977 to manage and expand their international offshore drilling division from one drillship to a diversified rig fleet of drill ships, semisubmersibles and jack up drilling units ( Dan-Tex Intl., J Lauritzen Offshore Drilling). His career allowed him and his family to live in many places, England, Germany, Middle East, Iran, Singapore, and Australia. Louis and Mae retired in the early 80s to the Texas Hill Country but only for a several years, Louis and retirement did not agree and they returned to Houston, Texas, he worked as a consultant in the Energy and Marine Insurance business and finally retiring in 2010.
Louis is preceded in death by Mae Rose (19 July 2018), his parents, brothers Mark and Donald Migues . Louis is survived by Phillip Migues (son), Lisa Baldwin (Daughter), Joan Troy (Daughter), David Migues ( Son), Vickie Migues (Daughter in Law), Bob Baldwin ( Son in Law), Lee Troy ( Son in Law), Stephanie Migues ( Daughter in Law), grandchildren: Robert Migues ( Amanda), Mark Migues ( Rachel), Alexis Migues Shanks ( Jeff Shanks), Kelley Baldwin, Kristin Baldwin. , great grandchildren, William Migues, Louis Migues and his brother Wayne Migues.
