Louis C. Ramirez, age 80, of Houston, Texas, passed away peacefully on January 11, 2026. He was born on November 7, 1945, in Houston, Texas. Louis proudly served his country in the United States Army. Following his military service, he devoted his working years to skilled trades, first as a carpenter and later as a painter for the Houston Independent School District (HISD). With a ninth-grade education, Louis was a hardworking and dedicated man who believed in honest work and providing for his family.
Louis was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He is survived by his children: Adam E. "Henry"Gonzales (Alicia), Gilbert Gonzales, Louis S. Ramirez, Theresa Salazar, and Jose G. Gonzales.
He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren: Catrena Hodge, Bella Alvarez (Hector), Martena Hodge, Adam Louis “AJ” Gonzales, Jose Delgadillo (Reina), Luis Delgadillo, Jacob Louis Ramirez (Kelly), Reynaldo Garza, Celeste Salazar, and Layla Salazar; and his great-grandchildren: Skylyn Hodge, Maverick Carlton, Remi Lou Ramirez, Natalie Pena, Antonio Delgadillo and Olivia Alvarez.
Louis leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews, as well as his beloved siblings: Ernestine Nunez, Annie Rincon, Josephine Martinez, Cruz Garcia, Rosie Zavala, and Marcelina “Belinda” Cordones.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Paula McSherry; his sisters, Esther Sauseda and Antonia Jimenez; and his brother, Pete Mendoza.
Louis will be remembered for his strength, dedication to family, and the legacy of love he leaves behind. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
A visitation will be held at Funeraria Del Angel Crespo, located at 2516 Navigation Blvd, Houston, TX 77003, on January 23, 2026, from 8:30 am to 11:00 am.
The committal service will take place at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr, Houston, TX 77038, on January 23, 2026, at 12:30 pm.
Pallbearers for the services will be Adam Louis "AJ" Gonzales, Manuel Jimenez, Jose Delgadillo, Jose Jimenez, Jacob Tellez, and Ralph Colunga.
